Hi! I’m Desi, the owner and panettiere behind
[desi]gn cakes & cupcakes.
You could say that I have a major sweet tooth and love to cook. My passion for baking grew when my Mom gifted me an Easy Bake Oven (yes, I started baking with lightbulbs) for Christmas when I was 7, and I fell in love.
It wasn’t until I was in college that I made a business plan for a marketing class where I really dove into the thought of operating a business and pitched the idea of [desi]gn cakes & cupcakes (see what I did with my name there?). With guidance from my classmates and my instructor, I baked my plan away, received an A in my class and began to bake for friends and families' birthdays.
In 2010 I decided that my “hobby” had grown and it was time to launch my dream business. Since then we have received 25 awards throughout California, including Best Bakery and Best Cupcakes and we are WINNERS of The Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. You can find us at local farmers markets and pop up shops, or you can create custom desserts with us.
I take pride in creating our desserts with quality ingredients. I love to work with our customers to create custom desserts to be a part of your special occasions.
